1.    Selfie-stick

Wherever you travel you are sure to see a few of these on the streets of tourist destinations. They are useful for everybody wanting to capture photos with the whole travelling party. No longer do you have to rely on the photography skills of a stranger or have a family member constantly missing from your holiday pictures.

Selfie-sticks are very easy to use, you simply plug your camera phone into the holder, point and click. They are also very light and they fold up, so they don’t take up much space in your bag.

2.    Portable Battery Charger

The most popular answer was a portable battery charger. This is probably because it feels like the end of the World when you are using your device of choice and the battery runs out, especially when you’re in the middle of doing something. For many a simple power bank is great, it’s an extra source of power when you are away from electricity sources, just remember to charge it!

For those eco-friendly travellers a  solar powered battery charger is preferred. It’s great for those sunny destinations and even on planes, if you have a window seat. But they tend to be a little more expensive.

3.    Kindle

Can’t leave the country without the latest best seller? Then maybe you need a Kindle. Books are big, bulky and worst of all heavy. Kindles are a great light weight way to have lots of books at your disposal in one tiny device. Whether you have a beach holiday planned, a long-haul flight or like to be prepared for flight delays, the Kindle is a useful source of entertainment. If you have children, it is also a great way to have a variety of story books at your fingertips for bedtime.

4.    Trakdot

Ever lost your luggage or had it ‘misplaced’? Trakdot is a device that tracks your luggage anywhere in the World.

It’s a small block that you pack inside your checked suitcase and you can monitor where it is on your phone. Basically, it’s a GPS for your suitcase. If you are regularly unlucky with lost luggage this might be the perfect travel gadget for you, as you can track its progress in being returned to you.

For some reason, there are multiple types of plugs all over the World. Wouldn’t it be great if there was one universal hole in wall to plug all your gadgets into?
