Officially, there are only seven lakes, but several smaller tarns and pools can be found, depending on the time of year. The valley is also home to numerous animal and plant species. Climb up to the Na Kalu pass, below which there once was a shepherd’s hut. Enter the valley and go to the hut at Dvojno jezero lake. The hut is located on the east-viewing ridge of the Komna Plateau, which rises steeply above the end of the Bohinj Valley at Savica.

– driving back to Bled

– dinner (not included)

Saturday:

– breakfast

Lake Bled & Blejski Vintgar Gorge Hike – Vintgar gorge is one of the most popular natural features in Slovenia. From Bled the route leads north towards the village of Podhom. All along the road there are clear signs for Vintgar, and then by local roads the route leads to the entrance to the gorge itself (3.5 km from Bled).

The path through Vintgar gorge leads along the wooden bridges, galleries and rushing river Radovna through the picturesque gorge, which measure 1600m and ends with 26-metre waterfall Šum. One can find its way back past St. Catherine’s church and take a scenic walk across the meadows which offers marvelous views on Karavanke mountain range, the Ljubljanska valley, Bleda and its surroundings and Mt. Triglav. The gorge will be open in April 2016.

– Pletna Boat Cruise to the Bled Island

The Church on the Island – Listen to the sounds of the church, the tranquillity of different colours, a splash of water from the lake and the ringing of the wishing bell, will fill you with peace and new hope. According to legend, which stayed with the people, the temple of the ancient Slavic goddess Živa, once stood in the place of the present Baroque church. The temple disappeared during battles between the followers of the pagan religion and Christians, who destroyed the altar and built a church instead.
