Bukovel Ski Resort established in 2005 is a large modern ski resort located in the village of Polyanytsya, in the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. It is Ukraine’s only European-class resort, with high-speed chair lifts, meticulously groomed slopes and snow-making machines, and turnstiles for letting skiers through lines. Bukovel resort has been carefully planned to make snow skiing and snowboarding enjoyable and convenient and to avoid lift lines and congestion. Ski lift queues longer than five minutes are rare.
Bukovel’s base elevation is nearly 900 m above sea level, and the highest ski lift rises to 1370 m. All categories of difficulty are available for great snow skiing and snowboarding. There is a very long gradual slope that is perfect for beginners, a couple short tows for children and “super-beginners,” all levels of intermediate runs, and several black diamonds. Night skiing is available from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m, on two slopes that are upper intermediate.
Rest in Bukovel — is a pleasure to observe the beauty of snowy mountain hills, innocently pure nature and delicious cuisine in the traditional Ukrainians hanties. To passion this spirit of tale that soars in the air, the words are not enough. You can feel this, only by visiting Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains.
Lviv – Cultural Capital of Ukraine
Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, it has been hidden behind the Iron Curtain in Ukraine for many years. It is a city in which Hitler and Stalin were given free rein, resulting in the systematic destruction of a thriving Central-European culture. Most residents were expelled or murdered. Yet the buildings have been miraculously salvaged.
On the weekend we will visit this great place to explore hidden gems, soak the atmosphere and taste
Located in the hill country on the banks of the Poltva river, near the border with Poland, Lviv is one of a select group of cities on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lviv was founded in 1256, and named after the son of its king. As it grew, it gained some degree of autonomy within the controlling empires. In the last century, Lviv was a battleground during both World Wars, suffering as armies from the east and from the west fought battles in the region.
Culture – Lviv’s historic churches, buildings and relics date back to the 13th century. Its architecture reflects a composite of European styles and historical periods. While most of its gothic architecture was destroyed by fire in the 16th century, there are numerous buildings constructed in the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classic styles.
City Hall (Ratusha)
The first city hall was established on Rynok ploscha (Market Square) in the middle of the 14th century. Constructed of wood, it was levelled by fire in 1381. A new hall was erected in the early 15th century. The stone tower that hovers above the hall is the second of its kind. The original was erected in 1619, but by the beginning of the 19th century was deemed unstable and demolished. The 65-meter high replacement is a replica of the original. Pace yourselves, it’s 306 steps up to the viewing platform.
The Old Town
Old Town in Lviv is an important historic centre which gained tourism prominence after it was chosen as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in the year 1998. Visit the Old town for its mixed cultural ambience and amalgamation of the architectural magnificence of eastern Europe with those of Italy and Germany. The most visited attraction in Old Town is the St. George’s Cathedral.
