The Carnival in Venice has been capturing people’s imagination since the 14th Century. There is something alien and fascinating about the masked city. It is as much scary as liberating, and the Venecians are simply the best at it.

Airport shuttle + water taxi transport from the airport to the hotel (included)
Masks workshop (included)-2,5 hours
Firstly, our teachers will give us wonderful presentation on the history of masks in Venetian culture.
They will show models of the different stages of the creation of a mask, from the clay sculpture up to the finished piece, along with an introduction to the different materials used in the process. Additionally, they will show a real example of a Moretta whilst explaining its original use and the context behind it.
You will be able to choose your own mask and preferred decoration technique. There are around 60 models to choose from, many categories for people to choose, from traditional to fantasy, for men or for women, for adults or for children, etc. All of which are handmade out of papier-mâché. Each individual is then able to decorate his own mask however they wish, using his own creativity and freedom of expression.
