Set yourself the challenge of conquering the mighty Mount Snowdon for 2017 – we’re doing this when the weather should be at it’s best!
Mount Snowdon is the highest Mountain in the British Isles outside Scotland and offers a great physical challenge to set yourself. We’ll be doing it in a smaller group of just 11 hikers.
This is our PARTNER EVENT.
We’ll also be staying in a country house hostel high up in the mountains with what might as well be it’s own private lake, at the foot of Snowdon, plus we’ll be providing all food so this is a fully catered trip.
Photos- please note: With the exception of the hostel photo, all photos were taken by the hike leader from previous trips here
At 1085m Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales, offers great hiking with dramatic views and needs little introduction. It’s a serious and tough mountain offering a great challenge and was famously used by Edmund Hillary in training for his 1953 ascent of Mount Everest. On reaching the summit we are rewarded with some spectacular far reaching views.
On Sunday we shall explore a second mountain in the area on a less demanding hike that is also conveniently on our way back to London so reducing our journey home.
Head over to our accommodation in the Snowdonia National Park.
We will be offering a fairly tough hike from Pen-y-Pass along the Miners track to the summit and then descending along the Miners track.
Distance: 8 miles (12km)
Rating: Tough – Mountain.
This hike will be both shorter and less strenuous than Saturday’s hike. From the top of this peak on a clear day it’s possible to see over 7 of the highest mountain peaks in Wales.
Distance: 6 miles
Rating: Medium/Tough – Mountain.
Breakfast and packed lunches are included and will be provided for Saturday and Sunday. A continental style (cold) breakfast is included too for both days as well as a dinner on Saturday night. You will need drinks for the trip and money for drinks in the evenings. We can cater for vegetarians but other dietary requirements must be checked with us before booking a space on this trip.
You will need transport to, from and during the trip. We cannot get involved with private lift share arrangements.
Closer to the date we will rent a van for 9 people, which you can choose to join for £85 total
Total price is £190
Full payment must be received by June 4th to guarantee your place.
All payments are non-refundable and non transferable unless the trip is cancelled or rescheduled. Once full payment has been received you may sell your space to a member of the same sex, however if you miss the final payment deadline or pull out of the trip before final payment is made your space will be lost and your deposit will not be refunded or transferred.
Price structure: Here at CKAC, we know how hard it can be to save money for that dream adventure, so that’s why we offer a deposit scheme on most of our trips. The idea is that you can pay an initial deposit for your chosen event or trip, in order to reserve your spot, but you are still left with the remainder of the payment, to pay at your own convenience, allowing you more time to save.
Once the deposit of £19 + paypal fees has been paid we will contact you with further details.
