The story is told from the perspective of the witches of Oz. It begins before Dorothy’s arrival to Oz, and continues after she has left, but it also includes several references to the 1939 film and Baum’s novel. Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch), who struggle against each other through opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over a shared love-interest, reactions to the Wizard’s corrupt government and, ultimately, Elphaba’s public fall from grace.

The West End production received 5 Laurence Olivier Award nominations and later won the Audience Award for Most Popular Show at the 2010 award ceremony.

Wicked currently stars Willemijn Verkaik (Elphaba), Suzie Mathers (Glinda), Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible), Mark Curry (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), Idriss Kargbo (Boq), Alice Fearn (Standby for Elphaba) and Carina Gillespie (Standby for Glinda).

Meeting point: We will be meeting outside Apollo Victoria Theatre, 17 Wilton Road, London SW1V 1LG at 7:00 pm.  We will wait for 15 minutes for any late comers and at 7:15 pm we will move in. The host will be carrying a balloon with the group’s logo on it. The play starts at 7:30 pm.
